Former Vanderpump Rules cast member Jax Taylor has publicly confirmed his relationship with publicist Lori Krebs, marking a significant development in the reality television personality's personal life following his separation from wife Brittany Cartwright.
The 47-year-old reality star acknowledged the relationship on Wednesday, July 29, through an Instagram exchange with a follower. When a fan suggested he pursue his own television program or appear as the next Bachelor, Taylor responded directly: "No thanks I am taken. ❤️"
The confirmation follows photographs obtained earlier this month showing Taylor and Krebs together at the Hotel Mousai in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. According to an eyewitness who spoke to Us Weekly, the pair appeared affectionate at the resort's pool area.
"At one point, a random woman at the pool was trying to give them relationship advice," the eyewitness told Us Weekly. "I asked him, 'How long have they been married?' And he said 'we're both happily divorced.'"
The witness further observed that the two "had their arms wrapped around each other and looked very close," adding that "it seemed obvious that they were very much together."
A source indicated the Mexico trip served a dual purpose, celebrating Taylor's 1.5 year sobriety milestone and his 47th birthday. The celebration included individuals from his recovery center and additional friends, with festivities at an Italian restaurant within the hotel followed by a rooftop Latin night event.
"He's in a really good place and is the happiest he's ever been," the source stated.
The relationship has created complications given Krebs's professional history. The publicist previously represented Cartwright, 37, who severed that professional relationship after photographs of Krebs and Taylor surfaced publicly.
An insider told Us Weekly that Cartwright found the situation deeply distressing. "It's very upsetting to her and she is sick to her stomach over it," the insider said. "She is shocked that photos surfaced and that they are out in public. Lori was with Brittany through dark days."
Cartwright initiated divorce proceedings against Taylor in August 2024, ending their five-year marriage. The former couple shares a son, Cruz, who is 5 years old.
Addressing the situation on her "When Reality Hits" podcast on July 17, Cartwright told The Valley costar Zack Wickham that she would eventually share her perspective on the matter.
"All I'm going to say about this at this moment is I will be speaking my truth — the truth — on this matter very soon whenever I'm ready," Cartwright stated on the podcast. "As of right now, I am focusing on me and the most important thing in my life, which is my beautiful son. And as of right now, I'm just trying to protect my son and my peace and very soon I will be telling [my story]."
According to a source who spoke to Us Weekly earlier this month, speculation about Taylor and Krebs had circulated for an extended period. "Brittany had her suspicions for years but always trusted that Lori had her best interest at heart and believed she wouldn't do such a thing," the source said.
The insider elaborated that the professional relationship between Cartwright and Krebs extended beyond typical boundaries. "There were rumors about them for years and Brittany always brushed them off. She always had Lori's back and trusted her. They were very good friends and did not have a typical professional relationship," the source added.
