Rock the Boat Cruises Expand to Cape May Terminal

Music lovers on our side of the Delaware Bay have something new to celebrate this summer. The Cape May - Lewes Ferry has announced that its beloved Rock the Boat cruises will finally depart from the Cape May terminal, marking a significant expansion of the popular summer tradition that previously sailed exclusively from Lewes, Delaware.

The Rock the Boat Ferry Cruises combine live rock bands with drinks and stunning views of the Delaware Bay, creating an atmosphere that has built what ferry officials describe as a massive following over the years. Now, New Jersey passengers won't need to drive to Delaware to experience the magic.

Heath Gehrke, Director of Ferry Operations, explained the decision to expand to Cape May stems directly from passenger feedback. The number one request the ferry has received has been to offer a departure option from Cape May, he noted. The combination of live rock music with ocean breezes and stunning sunset views creates an unmatched atmosphere, and officials are excited to bring that energy to New Jersey passengers this summer.

Starting Friday, July 11, the ferry will host live performances from Going Rouge and Nolan Quinn at both terminals. The schedule offers convenient options for residents on either side of the bay: Saturday evenings from Cape May and Thursday evenings from Lewes, with cruises running from 4:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

At just $18 per ticket, the cruises offer an affordable way to enjoy live music while taking in the natural beauty of our coastal waters.
