A violent confrontation in North Wildwood early Monday morning, June 22, 2026, has resulted in three hospitalizations and serious criminal charges against two suspects, according to the North Wildwood Police Department.
Officers responded to a fight in progress at 13th and Central Avenues around 1 AM Monday. When they arrived on scene, they found three injured adults who required immediate medical attention. All three victims were transported to Cooper University Hospital/Cape Regional for treatment.
The most seriously injured victim had lost consciousness after being struck with a bottle during the altercation. The suspects had already fled the scene before police arrived.
Swift Arrests Follow Investigation
Working in partnership with the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office, detectives from the North Wildwood Police Department moved quickly to identify and apprehend two suspects. Both arrests were made the same day as the incident.
Alpacino Carrero, 20, of Philadelphia, was charged with second-degree conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and second-degree aggravated assault. He is currently being held at the Cape May County Correctional Facility pending court proceedings.
A 17-year-old male from West Wildwood faces even more serious charges. The juvenile was initially charged with second-degree conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, second-degree aggravated assault, and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He is being held in a juvenile detention facility.
The following day, prosecutors filed additional charges against the juvenile, including first-degree robbery and another count of second-degree aggravated assault, reflecting the severity of the alleged crimes.
