TikTok personality Mason Hull is contesting criminal allegations that he purchased child sexual abuse material online, according to TMZ.com. The 18-year-old, whose following grew around Looksmaxxing content, has formally denied wrongdoing by entering a not guilty plea to 15 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material.
Hull was taken into custody on May 5. Detectives stated that videos depicting the sexual abuse of children were located on his phone, TMZ.com reported.
The arrest warrant outlines how authorities say the investigation began: Hull's girlfriend reportedly told police she went through his phone because she suspected he was being unfaithful. During that search, she claimed to have uncovered messages on the Telegram app in which Hull was allegedly paying individuals for the videos.
Court documents state that when questioned by officers, Hull said he had recently been curious to "try something new" and went looking for taboo pornography. He acknowledged spending money on two occasions to buy videos featuring children between the ages of 8 and 15, according to the documents. Police say a portion of the footage they recovered depicted children in distress while being abused.
As a condition of his release on bond, Hull was prohibited from accessing the internet. Prosecutors subsequently alleged that he breached that restriction. His legal team argued before the court that, as an influencer, Hull's livelihood depends on online access, and that a total ban on internet use made it impossible for him to earn a living, TMZ.com reported.
