WILDWOOD - The Cape May County Prosecutor's Office is alerting families across Cape May County after a drug bust in Wildwood turned up methamphetamine that looks like candy — a discovery officials fear could put children at risk.
Wildwood patrol officers were called out Thursday to the 200 block of Spencer Avenue, where reports described a person carrying a handgun. When officers arrived, they found the suspect — 36-year-old Mark Davis of Vineland — and discovered both a gun and methamphetamine inside his vehicle, according to the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office.
What has authorities especially concerned is the appearance of the seized drugs. Officials say the methamphetamine is brightly colored, making it look like candy — a presentation they warn could draw the attention of children. Parents are being asked to be especially vigilant and to talk with their kids about the dangers of unknown substances.
