Andrew Tate Faces New U.K. Charges in Miami Arrest

British prosecutors have filed additional criminal charges against Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate, leading to their arrest in Miami in July 2026. The U.K. government's expanded case now includes allegations from seven victims spanning incidents that allegedly occurred between July 2010 and August 2017 in London.

Malcolm McHaffie, who leads the Special Crime Division at the Crown Prosecution Service, announced the decision to pursue prosecution on the expanded charges. "We have decided to prosecute Andrew and Tristan Tate for further offenses including rape, arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation and offenses relating to indecent images of a child," McHaffie stated, according to Us Weekly. "These charging decisions followed receipt of a further file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police and bring the total number of alleged victims in this case to seven."

The Crown Prosecution Service detailed that Andrew Tate now confronts seven additional rape allegations, three charges related to facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, and three charges of assault causing actual bodily harm. Prosecutors also cited him for 19 separate alleged violations connected to child exploitation imagery and extreme pornographic material.

Tristan Tate faces his own set of new allegations: prosecutors have charged him with sexual assault, two rape counts, and three charges of facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.

The brothers' attorney, Joe McBride, has maintained their innocence and criticized the legal proceedings. "They're pulling out all the stops to make sure these guys never get their day in court," McBride told the Associated Press. "We are confident that once a competent judge sees the facts, and once the Department of Justice confronts this egregious abuse of its own authority, Andrew and Tristan Tate will walk free. America does not do Britain's political dirty work."

Both brothers have previously denied multiple accusations of sexual assault and human trafficking. "We live in a democratic society where it's innocent until proven guilty, and I think my brother and I are largely misunderstood," Andrew Tate told reporters in February 2025, according to Us Weekly. "There's a lot of opinions about us, a lot of things that got around about us on the internet. We've yet to be convicted of any crime in our lives ever."

Andrew Tate, whose full name is Emory Andrew Tate, built his public profile initially as a professional kickboxer, winning world championship titles four times. He gained broader recognition through an appearance on the U.K. version of Big Brother before cultivating a substantial online following within conservative and men's rights communities.

The influencer has openly embraced controversial positions regarding women. In an interview with a YouTuber, he stated he was "absolutely a misogynist," according to BBC News. "I'm a realist and when you're a realist, you're sexist," he said, per BBC News. "There's no way you can be rooted in reality and not be sexist."

Tate was born to an American father who served in the U.S. Air Force in Britain and a British mother. His parents met in the U.K. before relocating to the United States. Following his parents' separation, Tate moved to England with his mother.
