Two Arrested in SNL Writer's Sister Disappearance

Two individuals have been taken into custody on suspicion of murder in connection with the disappearance of Christina Lynn Downer, the sister of "Saturday Night Live" writer Jimmy Fowlie, according to a report by NBC4.

The arrests mark a significant development in a case that has drawn attention since Downer was last seen in Los Angeles' Koreatown neighborhood in December 2025. Earlier this month, authorities conducted a search of an Airbnb property in Joshua Tree as part of the investigation, working alongside the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department and utilizing K-9 units, NBC4 reported.

In April, Fowlie stated on Instagram that his sister was "no longer alive," though local authorities disputed that claim at the time. The Los Angeles Police Department told TMZ, "Robbery-Homicide Division continues to investigate the disappearance of Christina Downer. Although the circumstances of her disappearance are suspicious, Ms. Downer has not been located, and her case has not been reclassified as a homicide. RHD will diligently investigate this case until a resolution can be reached."

Further details have emerged indicating that Downer obtained a restraining order in 2024 against the former girlfriend of her boyfriend at the time. Fowlie has also expressed concern that his sister's social media accounts were compromised in the weeks leading up to her disappearance.

The LAPD is urging anyone with information about the case to contact the Missing Persons Unit at 213-996-1800. During non-business hours or on weekends, the public may call 1-877-527-3247.

As of Friday, law enforcement officials have not released additional information regarding the arrests. The investigation remains ongoing.
