Carl Radke Clarifies Past Incident with Danielle Olivera

Carl Radke has publicly addressed allegations regarding his history with former Summer House costar Danielle Olivera, offering clarification on an incident that has become a point of contention among cast members of the reality television franchise.

The 41-year-old reality television personality provided his account of events from 2019 during Season 4 of Summer House. "That summer, in season 4, Danielle and I were in an Uber back from Montauk and she was rubbing me over my pants, which is called an OTPHJ — over-the-pants handjob. It wasn't a real handjob, and we all knew it wasn't a real handjob," Radke told Variety in an interview published Tuesday, June 9.

The controversy emerged after Radke's former fiancée, Lindsay Hubbard, alleged during a recent episode of In the City that Olivera had engaged in intimate activity with Radke in 2019. This occurred after Radke had attempted to pursue a romantic relationship with Hubbard, who is 39 years old and founder of the Hubb House. Radke and Hubbard subsequently began dating in 2022 and became engaged the same year, though Radke called off their wedding in 2023.

Radke disputed Hubbard's characterization of the incident, explaining the context of what transpired. "She was playing with me and flirting with me," he stated, speaking to Variety. "We were not being great people in that moment because me and Lindsay had hooked up and were exploring dating, and then a week later, we're in an Uber and Danielle is kind of making moves on me. We talked about it very openly, there was no shadiness or real hiding. It's been discussed on multiple seasons and now, on season 1 of In the City."

The reality star emphasized that the distinction between terminology has become central to the dispute. "From my understanding, Danielle is frustrated because [of] 'handjob' versus 'over-the-pants handjob.' It's been spun out of control. I didn't lie or make anything up," Radke told Variety.

Olivera, 37, swiftly denied the accusations when Hubbard raised them during the In the City series premiere. In a social media statement issued last month, Olivera declared, "Just in case this isn't actually cleared up later on. It was a lie then, it's a lie now."

The situation prompted a conversation between Olivera and Radke. "He's like, 'Well, you know, there was some fooling around, like, in the back seat. In my head, I'm like, 'Eighth graders do more on a dance floor,'" Olivera told Us Weekly earlier this month. "He's like, 'It's crazy that you even have to clear it up, and I'm happy for you and your pregnancy.'"

Olivera is currently expecting her first child with boyfriend Eoin Heavey. According to Olivera's account to Us Weekly, Radke has moved beyond the controversy and maintains a desire for positive relations with Hubbard. "[Carl is], like, so far past it, and he wants to have everything be good with Lindsay, and I understand that," Olivera stated, noting that Radke is "happy to be friends" with Hubbard following their broken engagement.

The drama now plays out across two reality television programs. Olivera and Hubbard currently appear together on In the City, a Summer House spinoff that chronicles the cast members' lives in Manhattan between their seasonal stays in the Hamptons.

Despite the interpersonal tensions, Radke expressed admiration for his former fiancée's television presence. "Lindsay is a force to be reckoned with," Radke told Variety. "She's one of the greatest reality TV stars of all time. And if there's a season 2, I'd love to be a part of it."

The ongoing situation illustrates the complex interpersonal dynamics that emerge when personal relationships intersect with reality television production, particularly as cast members navigate both their private lives and public personas across multiple series within the same franchise.
