Federal authorities arrested six individuals Thursday morning across Louisiana and Texas in connection with a violent April shooting at a Houston restaurant, including two rappers who were taken into custody by the FBI and partner agencies.
Among those arrested were rappers NBA Ben10 and OG 3Three, according to FBI Houston Spokesperson Conor Hagen, who confirmed the multi-state operation to TMZ. The arrests stem from an incident at Confessions restaurant in Houston that occurred in April of this year.
NBA Ben10 himself sustained serious injuries during the shooting. Court documents indicate the incident resulted in irreversible paralysis for the rapper, marking a tragic outcome from the altercation that unfolded at the Houston establishment.
Authorities had previously charged another individual, Allstar JR, who stands accused of shooting NBA Ben10 during the confrontation. Surveillance footage from the scene reportedly captured Allstar JR engaged in what appeared to be a physical struggle with multiple individuals who seemed to be attempting to rob him.
According to law enforcement accounts, a firearm fell to the ground during the altercation. Allstar JR then allegedly began firing, striking three people in total. NBA Ben10 was among those hit and collapsed to the ground.
The allegations against Allstar JR grow more severe from there. Prosecutors claim he approached the fallen Ben10 and discharged three additional rounds at him. He then allegedly attempted to fire another shot at Ben10's head, but the weapon was empty of ammunition.
The FBI has not disclosed what specific charges NBA Ben10, OG 3Three, and the four other arrested individuals are facing. The bureau is directing all inquiries regarding charges to the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Texas, which will handle prosecution of the case.
The coordinated arrests across state lines demonstrate the scope of the federal investigation into the April shooting. The involvement of multiple law enforcement agencies alongside the FBI suggests authorities view the incident as part of a broader criminal matter warranting federal intervention.
