Forensic Expert Details Possible Blood Evidence in D4vd Case

Forensic evidence presented during the second day of D4vd's preliminary hearing revealed that numerous surfaces in the singer's garage tested positive for possible blood, according to testimony delivered Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

Lauren Wallace, a criminalist with the Los Angeles Police Department's forensic science division, took the witness stand to describe the evidence collection process at the Hollywood Hills home D4vd was renting. Wallace and her team processed the scene in September 2025, days after the body of Celeste Rivas was discovered.

The forensic team employed BLUESTAR tests, a specialized method used to detect potential blood evidence, throughout the residence. According to Wallace's testimony, red stains located near the singer's Tesla charger and rowing machine both returned positive results for possible blood.

Wallace described significant damage to the garage flooring, which was covered with black rubber interlocking mats. The mats displayed seven linear cuts that appeared consistent with the use of a sharp object. During BLUESTAR testing, these mats illuminated to indicate the possible presence of blood.

Additional items processed by the forensic team included a stained trash bag that also tested positive for possible blood. Wallace noted that an inflatable pool found in the garage emitted a laundry scent and contained a dryer sheet rolled up inside.

The extensive collection of evidence included a green tarp bearing red stains, disinfectant wipes, and two chainsaws. However, Wallace testified that the chainsaws tested negative for blood.

Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman questioned Wallace about whether investigators had located a Makita 10-inch chainsaw, the same model D4vd allegedly ordered through Postmates on May 4, 2025. Wallace confirmed that particular chainsaw was not found.

Throughout the testimony, D4vd displayed little visible reaction, observing the proceedings without apparent emotion. The court took a break during Wallace's time on the stand, and when proceedings resumed, the parents of Celeste Rivas, who had attended both the previous day and earlier Wednesday, did not return to the courtroom.

The singer faces murder charges in connection with the death of Celeste Rivas. Her dismembered body was discovered in September 2025 in the front trunk of his Tesla vehicle.

The preliminary hearing continues as prosecutors present evidence to determine whether sufficient cause exists to proceed to trial.
