Help Identify Man Found in Brigantine 44 Years Ago

More than four decades after skeletal remains were discovered in an Atlantic County marsh, investigators are turning to the public with newly released composite sketches, hoping someone in our community holds the key to identifying this unknown individual.

The New Jersey State Police Missing Persons Unit shared images this week depicting what the man may have looked like when he died. His remains were discovered on May 14, 1982, in marshy terrain adjacent to Golden Hammock Thorofare in Brigantine City.

Investigators have developed a profile based on forensic analysis. The individual is believed to have been a white man standing approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing around 165 pounds, and aged between 35 and 45 years old. Authorities estimate he died sometime during 1981 or 1982.

The composite sketches released by state police show two views of the man's facial features as they appeared at the time of his death. These images represent investigators' best reconstruction of his appearance based on the evidence available.
