Jenelle Evans Says She's Done With David Eason

Jenelle Evans has announced she is finished with ex-husband David Eason after a brief period of attempting to coparent their daughter together.

The 34-year-old Teen Mom 2 star addressed the situation in a TikTok video posted on Wednesday, September 9, explaining her decision to her followers after months of maintaining relative silence about her personal life.

"The topic of David. Just think this needs to be addressed to all of my fans because I've just been so transparent with you guys over the years," Evans said in the video, according to Us Weekly. "I'm just kinda silent lately because of my health issues. Also, my mental struggles, what I've been going through lately, it's been really, really tough."

Evans confirmed that she had been coparenting 9-year-old daughter Ensley with Eason, 38, for several months, allowing him one-on-one visits so the father and daughter could spend time together. The reality television personality also has a 17-year-old son named Jace with ex Andrew Lewis and a 12-year-old son named Kaiser with Nathan Griffith.

Evans and Eason had an on-and-off relationship beginning in 2015 before she filed for separation in 2024. She has previously taken legal action against him, and fans expressed concern about her decision to give the relationship another chance.

In her video message, Evans described how the renewed contact initially seemed promising but quickly deteriorated into familiar negative patterns.

"Everything was nice at first, [he was] very sweet and caring," Evans told Us Weekly. "He was trying to hold my hand and touch me a lot. That all went away within a month."

According to Evans, Eason began displaying a changed attitude and resorted to name-calling when frustrated, behavior she said characterized their nine-year relationship history.

"That was the s*** I was dealing with for nine years and I refuse to still put up with it now," she stated, according to Us Weekly. "I don't know if he was being manic at some points but it showed me a lot of red flags I've recognized for years."

The situation reached a breaking point involving their daughter Ensley, though Evans noted the incident occurred during a brief period when her two youngest children attended public school before she began homeschooling them.

Evans has been managing significant health challenges during this period. Earlier this week, she revealed she underwent surgery on her left knee in April and was subsequently diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome, a form of chronic pain that can develop in a limb following surgery, according to the Mayo Clinic.

"I was seeing everything happen all over again [with Eason] before my f***ing eyes," Evans said, according to Us Weekly. "I was like, I'm not doing this anymore and for [him] to treat me this way while I'm … the downest I've ever been in my life?"

Evans also accused Eason of attempting to charge $3,000 to her credit card for a boat-docking fee after moving from Florida to North Carolina. She confirmed the bank refunded the charge.

The MTV personality acknowledged her pattern of giving former partners second chances but said she recognized the warning signs more quickly this time.

"I'm always a believer of second chances, unfortunately," she said, according to Us Weekly. "I do that with my exes. That's my track record. Everybody knows that. This time, at least it only took a few months to see the dramatic change in his behavior. Ladies, don't put up with that."

Evans encouraged others in similar situations to leave unhealthy relationships, acknowledging the difficulty of making that decision independently.

"I know it's scary to be alone. One day, you'll just have to wake up and have that epiphany," she said, according to Us Weekly. "Nobody can tell you to leave him. You have to make that decision yourself and it's very hard."

Evans told her followers she has begun working with a therapist to address unresolved trauma from her past.

"We agree that I have a lot of trauma that's happened that I have not really acknowledged," she said, according to Us Weekly. "We are working on that!"

Evans concluded her video by stating she had blocked Eason and had not communicated with him for at least two weeks. Us Weekly reported that it reached out to Eason for comment.
