Katie Thurston Reveals Chin Liposuction During Cancer Treatment

Katie Thurston has disclosed that she recently underwent chin liposuction while continuing treatment for stage 4 breast cancer, sharing the news with her social media followers through a series of Instagram posts.

The 35-year-old Bachelorette star posted an image showing herself with her head wrapped in a compression bandage, seated on a couch with her mixed-breed rescue dog, Charlie, surrounded by pillows and holding an iced beverage.

"After so many required medical surgeries, I decided to do one for myself," Thurston wrote in the Instagram Story post. "I'm all about transparency. Never had Botox. Never had filler. But today I did in fact have chin lipo."

In a follow-up post featuring her dog, Thurston wrote "My healer" as a caption. She then shared a text-only story informing followers that she would address questions later, stating she was "down for the count" while recovering.

The reality television personality first revealed her breast cancer diagnosis in February 2025. Within weeks of that announcement, medical professionals reclassified her condition as stage 4 after discovering the cancer had metastasized to her liver.

Rather than pursuing chemotherapy, Thurston opted for alternative treatment approaches including hormone-suppression shots and endocrine therapies. One year into her treatment regimen, she reported that her breast tumor had decreased to nearly half its original size.

Later medical scans indicated no signs of cancer in her liver. In April, Thurston underwent a double mastectomy as part of her treatment plan. By June, she informed her audience that she was temporarily pausing her ongoing medications to prioritize her mental health.

Thurston's husband, comedian Jeff Arcuri, 38, discussed the couple's family planning aspirations in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly last month. Before beginning her cancer treatments, Thurston dedicated two weeks to starting IVF, during which the couple successfully froze two viable embryos.

"It has so much more weight to it now because we have the presence of — not death, but something very dark happening — and then, on the other end of that, we're talking about creating life. So there is a beauty to the contrast of that, I think, and I like to focus on that, on the positives, on what we're going to be doing," Arcuri told Us Weekly.

Arcuri expressed confidence in his wife's future as a mother, telling the publication that Thurston is "such a natural mama bear to everybody that she meets" and that he remains "incredibly excited" to see her in that role.
