Paige Price, the estranged wife of actor Frankie Muniz, posted a cryptic message about perspective on Instagram on Friday, September 18, 2026, just hours after Muniz publicly described an intensely difficult stretch in his personal life.
In the Instagram Story, Price appears in a video making a wax seal while text on the screen reads, "Life is all about perspective. If you ask the grass, the zebra is the monster and the lion is the protector." The clip's soundtrack was an acoustic rendition of the Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris," a song whose lyrics address a reluctance to let the world see or fully understand a person, according to TMZ.com.
The post followed Muniz's own Instagram statement earlier Friday, in which the "Malcolm in the Middle" star wrote, "The last 6 weeks of my life have been a nightmare I'm praying to wake up from," and added, "Everything has felt heavy, unclear, and like it has been falling apart at the same time," as reported by TMZ.com.
Muniz also said he had been compelled to face aspects of himself he wishes to change, a process he characterized as an "unexpected gift." He acknowledged reaching what he called "rock bottom" while expressing confidence that the low point would ultimately become the starting point for something better. He closed his message with encouragement for others enduring hard times, writing that they are "not broken" but "being rebuilt."
The public exchange comes two months after the couple announced in July that they were ending their marriage after 10 years together. Muniz and Price, who share 5-year-old son Mauz, said at the time that they intended to remain friends and continue co-parenting. Price had previously come to Muniz's defense following criticism of his initial divorce announcement, maintaining that the two remained "on the same team."
