Ray J Plans More Fights Despite Knockout, Hospital Stay

Ray J has announced plans to continue his boxing career despite suffering a knockout that sent him to the hospital for four nights following his May bout in Las Vegas.

The entertainer appeared on "The TMZ Podcast" hosted by Towanda, where he discussed his determination to keep fighting even after Supa Hot Fire knocked him unconscious during their Las Vegas match. Ray J revealed he has no memory of the beating he sustained in the ring.

Characterizing this phase of his life as his "final reckless moments," Ray J told TMZ.com he wants to complete his bucket list and finish strong before maturing into a calmer, more thoughtful version of himself. The transition from what he calls "Reckless Ray" to "Responsible Ray" remains on the horizon, though he indicated the handoff has not yet occurred.

Ray J described his upcoming evolution as incorporating lessons from his experiences in business, technology, television, and personal relationships. While acknowledging disappointment about becoming less outspoken, he recognized that every phase of life must eventually conclude.

The May knockout came when Supa Hot Fire landed a powerful right hook that sent Ray J into the ropes before he collapsed to the canvas. Hours after the fight ended, Ray J admitted himself to a hospital where medical staff evaluated him for a potential concussion and monitored his decreasing heart rate.

The bout attracted additional scrutiny when Ray J made confusing statements immediately after the match. He seized the microphone and appeared to suggest some form of conspiracy had taken place, though he subsequently denied intentionally losing the fight.

Despite the knockout and extended hospitalization, Ray J maintains he has more fights ahead of him before retiring from the sport. His commitment to continuing suggests the self-described reckless phase has not yet run its course.
