Real Housewives Star Angie Katsanevas Separates From Husband

Angie Katsanevas, a cast member of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, has separated from her husband Shawn Trujillo after 27 years of marriage, according to multiple media reports published Monday.

The separation follows the couple's 27th wedding anniversary in June, which passed without the customary social media acknowledgment from Katsanevas, 52. In contrast, she had marked their 26th anniversary in June 2025 with an Instagram tribute that referenced their initial meeting at a hair salon.

"A Hair Affair #26YEARS," Katsanevas wrote at the time, according to Us Weekly. "Seems like yesterday I booked an appointment for a blowdry with this dreamy guy I saw on the cover of a romance novel in the grocery store checkout. Long hair like Fabio, big muscles, and known to be lethal with scissors. The rest is HAIRstory."

The couple co-founded Lunatic Fringe, a hair salon, and share a 15-year-old daughter named Elektra. Whether their relationship difficulties will feature in the upcoming seventh season of the Bravo reality series remains unknown. Production on that season commenced in late February.

Trujillo, 55, previously addressed speculation about marital problems in January after social media users observed he had begun following divorce coaches online. He dismissed the concerns in a statement to Reality Shrine, explaining that he was supporting someone close to him experiencing difficulties.

"After all the assumptions and continued speculation, much like the statement I've made on the previous issue, I am compelled to defend who I've followed on social media. This has nothing to do with Angie," Trujillo stated, according to Us Weekly. "I simply have someone close to me going through a rough time. This person sends me pages with thoughts and info on what they are going through. It's as simple as that. Nothing more nothing less. I understand we are in the public eye."

Katsanevas first appeared on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City as a guest during the show's second season in 2021. She returned as a friend of the cast for season three before being promoted to full-time cast member when season four premiered in 2023.

The couple's relationship has faced public scrutiny since joining the reality television program. During the fourth season, rumors circulated alleging Trujillo had been unfaithful to his wife with multiple men. He denied those allegations during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in 2023.

"For me, it's not a gay-straight thing. It's an infidelity thing," Trujillo said during that appearance, according to Us Weekly. "We love our gay community. We've been embedded in it for 30 years now just based on what we do for our business. But I'm here to support Angie, and I'll take the hits."

Last year, Katsanevas discussed how the couple navigated the public speculation when she spoke with Us magazine for its Reality Stars of the Year issue. She emphasized that Trujillo took greater offense at questions about his fidelity than at the nature of the rumors themselves.

"It didn't offend him, because we've been friends and family of the LGBTQIA+ community for over 30 years," Katsanevas told Us Weekly. "So you know, those rumors that the girls were throwing out there, it's like the low-hanging fruit. For him, he was more offended that people were questioning him being faithful to his wife."

At the time, Katsanevas praised her husband's response to the controversy and described how they moved forward together as a couple and family unit. She characterized his handling of the situation as revealing of his character and expressed confidence that truth would ultimately prevail.
