Rosland Capital, the precious metals dealer that employed Disney star Erik von Detten, has disclosed debts of $63,695,061 in its ongoing bankruptcy, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. The figure, reported on Monday, November 2, 2026, places the company's obligations to creditors above $60 million.
The bankruptcy filing arrives months after Rosland Capital and von Detten were named in an elder abuse lawsuit brought by Sheila Greenberg and Norman Greenberg. The couple alleged that von Detten, who worked at Rosland Capital for years, sold them gold and played what the suit described as an "instrumental" role in finding customers for the company.
According to the Greenbergs, they purchased gold through Rosland Capital for more than $2 million but later discovered the metal was worth only $1.3 million. The lawsuit further claimed that von Detten took advantage of the couple because of their age.
Von Detten did not respond to the lawsuit before Rosland Capital filed for bankruptcy. In the bankruptcy proceedings, creditors have claimed that the actor has been a "roadblock" in their efforts to obtain information about the company, TMZ first reported. The case remains ongoing.
The disclosure of more than $63 million in debt underscores the scale of the financial collapse facing Rosland Capital's creditors, who are now pursuing details about the company's operations through the bankruptcy court. For consumers who purchased precious metals through the dealer, the proceedings may determine how much, if anything, they recover.
