Soulja Boy's $4.2M Debt Growing Daily

Rapper Soulja Boy faces mounting financial pressure as his $4.2 million debt to a former girlfriend continues to grow by more than $1,000 per day in interest, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ.com.

The debt stems from a jury verdict that found the "Pop Off" artist liable for sexual battery, infliction of emotional distress, and other claims related to his romantic relationship with the woman, who filed her lawsuit as Jane Doe. The relationship between the musician and his assistant reportedly turned violent, leading to the legal action.

According to the legal documents, the outstanding balance is accruing $1,165 in daily interest as the former girlfriend pursues collection of the nearly $4 million judgment. This means that for every week that passes without payment, the debt increases by more than $8,000.

The woman has taken aggressive steps to collect the judgment, including efforts to have Soulja Boy's music residuals sold to the highest bidder. This collection strategy would allow her to recover the multi-million dollar amount through the rapper's ongoing earnings from his musical catalog.

The case represents a significant financial liability for the artist, whose legal name is DeAndre Cortez Way. The jury trial that resulted in the substantial award examined allegations of abuse during the relationship, ultimately holding the rapper accountable for his actions.

As the interest continues to compound daily, the total amount owed will only increase until the judgment is satisfied. The ongoing collection efforts underscore the serious financial consequences that can result from civil liability verdicts, particularly in cases involving allegations of violence and emotional harm.
