Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Make First Public Appearance at NFL Wedding

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce made their debut as a married couple at a fellow NFL player's wedding last week, attending the Friday, July 10 ceremony of Juju Smith-Schuster and Laura Kruk in Laguna Niguel, California. The appearance marked the first time the couple has been seen publicly since exchanging their own vows on July 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The 29-year-old Smith-Schuster, who plays for the New York Giants, and Kruk celebrated their nuptials at the Ritz Carlton overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The couple, who met in 2023, shared details about their wedding celebration in an interview published Tuesday by Vogue.

"We wanted our wedding to reflect who we are as people and as a couple and to be one big party," Kruk told Vogue. The bride took charge of nearly all planning details for the event, which incorporated significant cultural elements honoring Smith-Schuster's Samoan heritage.

Smith-Schuster, who played college football at the University of Southern California approximately one hour north of the Orange County venue, acknowledged his supporting role in the planning process. "I was a great team player by helping with the DJ and saying 'yes' and 'no,'" he joked during the joint interview.

The wedding festivities began with a beachside welcome party featuring Hawaiian-themed elements and traditional Polynesian performances. Guests received piña coladas served in branded coconuts displaying the couple's wedding logo, according to Kruk's account to Vogue.

"We brought out Polynesian dancers halfway through the night and listened to speeches from our closest friends and family," Kruk told Vogue.

For the ceremony itself, Kruk wore a Steven Khalil mermaid-style gown featuring lace fabric and ruched tulle overlay. Smith-Schuster donned a custom suit created by Julian Abdul Studios. Kelce, 36, appeared in a black suit and tie, while Swift, also 36, selected a floral ballgown appropriate for the sunny coastal setting.

The ceremony incorporated romantic touches, with champagne distributed to guests upon arrival and a violinist performing love songs selected by the couple. Smith-Schuster reflected on the emotional weight of the moment in his Vogue interview.

"The moment I saw her walking toward me, I knew without a doubt that I was marrying the woman I had prayed for," Smith-Schuster told Vogue. "It still feels surreal finally having a ring on my finger — and for once, it's not a Super Bowl ring."

Photographs from the event captured Swift and Kelce wearing what appeared to be their wedding bands, offering fans their first glimpse of the rings following the couple's private Madison Square Garden ceremony one week earlier. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end had his arm around Swift's waist in group photos, while she placed her left hand on his, displaying her ring.

The guest list included additional NFL connections, with Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany Mahomes also in attendance. Smith-Schuster previously played alongside both Kelce and Mahomes on the Kansas City Chiefs.

Both weddings implemented strict no-phone policies to maintain privacy and encourage guest engagement. "No phones were allowed during our wedding celebration, and everyone was so present," Kruk told Vogue, noting the same protocol Swift and Kelce employed at their own ceremony.

A particularly meaningful moment for Smith-Schuster came during the traditional Samoan Taualuga dance, when Kruk participated despite stepping outside her comfort zone. The cultural tradition holds deep significance in Samoan celebrations.

"Seeing her embrace my culture with such love and courage meant more to me than words can express," Smith-Schuster told Vogue. "Watching her honor my family and our traditions made me incredibly proud and reminded me just how blessed I am to call her my wife."

The couple celebrated with a cocktail hour and reception following the ceremony, capping off a weekend that blended California coastal elegance with Pacific Island cultural traditions.
