Woman Arrested in Viral Street Vendor Attack

Los Angeles police arrested a suspect Thursday in connection with a brutal attack on a street vendor that has circulated widely across social media platforms this week, authorities confirmed.

The Los Angeles Police Department took 19-year-old Harmunie Heaven Church into custody on Thursday and booked her on felony battery charges. She is currently being held on $50,000 bail, according to TMZ.com.

The disturbing footage captured a violent confrontation that has drawn condemnation from viewers across the country and prompted an outpouring of community support for the victim.

The video allegedly depicts the suspect approaching Arabelia Martinez while she was preparing hot dogs at her grill. What began as a verbal argument rapidly escalated into physical violence, with the suspect striking Martinez multiple times in the head and pulling her hair as bystanders attempted to intervene and separate the two women.

Following the arrest, Martinez's family issued a statement expressing gratitude for law enforcement's swift action. The family said they are "relieved" the suspect is in custody and thanked the LAPD for their assistance, according to TMZ.com. They also acknowledged the widespread support the family has received, stating: "We also want to thank the people of Los Angeles, and everyone around the world, for the incredible outpouring of love, prayers, and support."

The incident has galvanized community support for Martinez and her family. Constantino Garcia, Martinez's son, established a GoFundMe campaign in the aftermath of the attack. The fundraising effort has generated an overwhelming response, raising more than $120,000 as of Thursday.

Among the donors was Alabama Barker, who contributed $2,000 to the cause and expressed her emotional reaction to the footage, stating that the video broke her heart.
