Actor Faizon Love Arrested After Claiming Zero Income

Actor Faizon Love was arrested and booked Tuesday, June 16, 2026, in Tampa, Florida, on contempt of court charges stemming from unpaid child support obligations, following months of legal filings in which he claimed financial hardship and zero income.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Love filed paperwork earlier this year in his paternity dispute with Tiffany Lee, asserting he could not pay the $250,000 she claims he owes in child support. The actor told the court he has been unemployed and struggling financially, claiming his income for last year was $0.

In the documents, Love stated that the highest gross income he earned over the previous five years amounted to merely $13,000. The stark financial portrait painted by the actor stands in contrast to his previous career in Hollywood, though he maintained he has acted in good faith throughout the legal proceedings.

Love also informed the court that he suffered a medical incident which prevented him from appearing at a hearing in April. Despite his explanations and claims of financial inability, the judge found his arguments insufficient and held him in contempt of court.

The court ordered Love to turn himself in to jail for 90 days in May or face additional consequences. When he failed to comply with that order, authorities in Tampa arrested him on two contempt of court charges. His booking photograph reflected visible displeasure with the situation.

The case highlights the legal consequences that can follow when child support obligations go unpaid, regardless of claimed financial circumstances. Courts typically require substantial documentation to modify support orders based on income changes, and judges retain discretion to determine whether a parent has made sufficient efforts to meet their obligations.

The contempt charges represent a significant escalation in the ongoing legal dispute between Love and Lee. The actor now faces the prospect of serving jail time while the underlying child support matter remains unresolved.
