Influencer Clavicular Disputes Overdose Reports from Viral Incident

Social media influencer Clavicular is pushing back against reports that he suffered a drug overdose during a livestream earlier this year, claiming the incident was deliberately exaggerated to generate publicity ahead of a nightclub appearance.

In an interview scheduled to air Tuesday, July 21, on the "Hang Out with Sean Hannity" podcast, the 20-year-old content creator—whose legal name is Braden Peters—attributes his collapse to alcohol consumption without food rather than substance abuse.

"I mean I just, literally, had not eaten that day, consumed too much alcohol, and just knocked out a little bit," Clavicular told Us Weekly in an exclusive preview of the podcast episode. "I didn't overdose or anything."

When podcast host Sean Hannity pressed him on whether he drank on an empty stomach, Clavicular confirmed: "Pretty much, yeah."

The influencer downplayed the severity of the April incident, which occurred during a livestream and resulted in his hospitalization. He suggested that public reaction to his passing out mid-broadcast was disproportionate to what actually transpired.

"I mean, what? People are acting like they've never passed out from drinking a little too much at 20 years old," Clavicular said, speaking to Us Weekly. "It happens literally all the time in college. It wasn't a big thing."

Clavicular went further, alleging that the situation was "misreported, intentionally" to generate viral attention before a scheduled club opening. He acknowledged that the publicity strategy succeeded, noting that the story achieved widespread circulation and preceded his nightclub event as planned.

"The intended goal was hit, right? It went extremely viral, and then you had the club opening," he told Us Weekly, adding that he was not frustrated by the coverage.

The April 14 livestream incident drew significant attention after viewers witnessed Clavicular appearing disoriented while streaming with friends. Video footage showed him becoming increasingly incoherent before losing consciousness, with his head eventually resting on a companion's shoulder before the broadcast ended abruptly. He later posted a photograph showing blood on his face from the episode.

Following the incident, Clavicular received medical treatment at a local hospital. On April 15, he addressed the situation publicly through social media, writing on X: "Just got home, that was brutal. All of the substances are just a cope trying to feel neurotypical while being in public, but obviously that isn't a real solution."

He added: "The worst part of tonight was my face descending from the life support mask."

In a subsequent livestream that same day, Clavicular committed to abstaining from substances and reconsidering his content creation approach. The influencer, who has amassed more than 970,000 Instagram followers, stated he needed to "figure out a new method" for his online presence.

The incident had professional repercussions beyond his health. On April 16, journalist Taylor Lorenz reported that Clavicular's publicist, Mitchell Jackson, terminated their working relationship. According to Lorenz's reporting on X, Jackson quit "until he agrees to get treatment for his addiction," noting that Clavicular "recently left the hospital against medical advice after an OD incident."

Clavicular has become a polarizing figure within the looksmaxxing community, a subculture focused on physical self-improvement to enhance dating prospects. His controversial content has included claims of using unconventional methods to alter his facial structure.
