A judge has dismissed a fraudulent restraining order filed against Adam22 after his wife, Lena The Plug, testified in court that she never requested the protective order bearing her name.
The hearing took place on Thursday, with both Adam22 and Lena The Plug appearing via Zoom to address the temporary restraining order that had prohibited Adam22 from approaching his own wife.
According to the minute order from the proceedings, Lena The Plug informed the judge that she had not filed the restraining order, despite the document being submitted under her name. She requested the court dismiss the temporary restraining order, and the judge granted her request, dissolving the order.
The case appears to stem from an elaborate catfishing scheme. Lena The Plug believes an individual is impersonating her online and has convinced a man that she is in danger because of Adam22, according to TMZ. She maintains these claims are false.
The fraudulent legal filings extend beyond the restraining order. The unidentified man also filed a fake divorce petition on behalf of Lena The Plug, which the couple is working to have dismissed through the court system.
The incident highlights the potential consequences of online impersonation and the legal complications that can arise when someone files court documents using another person's identity without authorization.
