Knicks Guard Hart Denies Swift Wedding Invite Rumors

New York Knicks starting guard Josh Hart has publicly dismissed rumors that he and his teammates were invited to attend Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's anticipated wedding ceremony, which has been the subject of intense speculation ahead of the July 4 holiday weekend.

The 31-year-old player responded to social media chatter on Thursday, July 2, after fellow NBA player Jeremy Sochan quoted a report about the alleged invitation and jokingly requested to accompany Hart to the event. Sochan, 23, wrote on X: "What about me? 😞 @joshhart can I be your plus 1?"

Hart's response appeared to definitively shut down the speculation. "Lol bro this fake news," Hart wrote, seemingly denying that he or fellow Knicks starters Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges, and OG Anunoby had received invitations to the nuptials.

The wedding rumors gained traction following Swift's high-profile appearance at the Knicks' NBA Playoffs Game 4 on June 10 at Madison Square Garden. The venue itself has become central to speculation, with reports suggesting Swift and Kelce plan to exchange vows there during the Independence Day weekend.

Swift's connection to the Knicks became a talking point when she addressed her enthusiastic support for the team during her Songwriters Hall of Fame induction speech on June 11. The singer acknowledged her hoarse voice, explaining she had attended a Knicks game the previous evening.

"The quality of my speaking voice is the product of [something] that I am not sorry for... I was lucky enough to go to a Knicks game last night," Swift said, according to Us Weekly. "I screamed for 100% of it. And then I got home and was like, 'You gotta stop screaming, you're screaming too much, you're screaming instead of talking, you're too excited.'"

The timing of Swift's appearance proved fortuitous for the Knicks, who went on to capture their first NBA Championship in 53 years during Game 5, defeating the San Antonio Spurs 94-90 in a closely contested match.

Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in August 2025, though the couple has maintained discretion regarding specific wedding details and location. During an appearance on the Graham Norton Show in October 2025, Swift expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming celebration.

"I think the wedding is what happens after [my Life of a Showgirl promotional tour] in the scheme of the planning, but I'm so excited about it," Swift said, according to Us Weekly. "I know it's gonna be fun to plan because I think the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount and people are on the bubble."

Despite Hart's denial, speculation continues to swirl around the reported Madison Square Garden ceremony, with the July 4 weekend timeline adding to the anticipation among fans and media observers. The venue holds particular significance for Swift, who has performed there numerous times throughout her career and recently demonstrated her support for the city's basketball franchise during their championship run.
