Lil Wayne has presented new evidence in his ongoing legal dispute with a former employee, asserting that testimony from a private jet pilot undermines allegations of assault filed against the musician.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the rapper's legal team disclosed that the pilot was recently deposed and provided testimony that contradicts the account given by Andrew Williams, Wayne's former assistant. Williams initiated legal action against the musician in 2022, alleging that Wayne struck him during an incident aboard a private aircraft.
Williams claimed in his lawsuit that the alleged assault occurred when he attempted to intervene in a physical altercation between Wayne and the pilot. However, the newly filed court documents indicate that the pilot's deposition testimony disputes Williams' version of events, with Wayne's legal team stating the pilot has impeached the former assistant's claims.
The legal filings also challenge the severity of injuries Williams alleges he sustained. Wayne's attorneys noted that despite Williams' assertions of being badly injured, medical records from an urgent care facility visited after the incident documented no swelling and no significant injury. The former assistant was prescribed ibuprofen, which Wayne's legal team states Williams did not take.
According to the court documents, Williams subsequently consulted multiple medical providers, all of whom reportedly informed him that he had sustained no injuries from the alleged incident.
Based on the pilot's testimony and the medical evidence, Wayne is now requesting court permission to depose Williams a second time. The rapper's legal team seeks to question the former assistant about the new information that has emerged through the pilot's deposition.
