Olympic Swimmer Ryan Lochte Settles HOA Dispute Over Gainesville Home

Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte has successfully avoided foreclosure on his Gainesville residence after reaching a settlement agreement with his homeowners association, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ.

Lochte and his ex-wife Kayla negotiated a resolution with the Fletcher Park Owners' Association, ending a legal dispute that began in November 2025. The association had filed suit against the former couple, alleging they failed to pay mandatory fees and assessments required for maintenance and other community obligations.

The property in question is a 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom residence spanning 2,800 square feet in Gainesville, Florida. The couple purchased the home in 2021 for $547,000. Current estimates place the property's value at approximately $660,000, representing a significant appreciation over the five-year period.

According to the lawsuit, the outstanding debt to the homeowners association totaled approximately $3,686. The settlement agreement has now resolved this obligation, removing the threat of foreclosure proceedings.

The HOA dispute emerged amid significant personal turmoil for the former Olympic swimmer. Kayla filed for divorce in March 2025 after seven years of marriage. The couple shares three minor children together.

The divorce proceedings, which remain pending, have been contentious. Court filings included allegations from Kayla regarding substance abuse concerns, specifically claiming Lochte used drugs around one of their children and left empty cocaine baggies in the home. Lochte denied these allegations but acknowledged he had sought treatment for addiction issues and maintained he is now sober.

The settlement comes just days after Lochte announced his engagement to a new girlfriend last week, marking a new chapter in his personal life as he navigates the ongoing divorce proceedings and property matters.

Lochte, a 12-time Olympic medalist, achieved international fame as one of the most decorated swimmers in American history. However, his career has been marked by controversy, including a high-profile incident during the 2016 Rio Olympics that resulted in the loss of major sponsorships.

The resolution of the HOA dispute allows both parties to retain their interest in the Gainesville property while the divorce proceedings continue through the Florida court system. The terms of the settlement agreement were not disclosed in the available court documents.
