Reality Star's Ex Calls Police Over Custody Dispute

Dakota Mortensen, the former partner of reality television personality Taylor Frankie Paul, contacted the Bluffdale Police Department on Friday, June 26, seeking clarification about a protective order related to their child custody arrangement.

The Bluffdale Police Department confirmed to Us Weekly that Mortensen, 33, called authorities at approximately 10:00 p.m. with questions regarding the protective order he and Paul, 32, have concerning visitation arrangements for their 2-year-old son, Ever. Mortensen specifically inquired about who could assist with drop-off and pick-up exchanges and whether the protective order had been violated.

Officers subsequently contacted Paul by telephone and collected statements from all parties involved in the matter. The case has been forwarded to the District Attorney's office, which will determine whether a violation of the protective order occurred. The Bluffdale Police Department's investigation will remain closed unless the district attorney determines that a violation took place.

Following the police contact, Paul addressed the incident on social media, expressing frustration about the authorities being called. According to a screenshot shared via TMZ, the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star wrote in a since-deleted Instagram Story: "Cops called on me again THIS WEEK … What are the odds? And it's not people … it's ONE person, the same person. It's obsessive."

The incident represents the latest development in an ongoing custody dispute between Paul and Mortensen over Ever. The former couple's legal battle has been marked by multiple domestic violence incidents and allegations from both parties.

Earlier this year, Mortensen alleged that Paul had been physically violent with him during a February incident. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Mortensen claimed that an altercation occurred at Paul's residence where she allegedly choked him and shoved him into a window. Mortensen characterized Paul as "emotionally volatile" and expressed concern for their toddler's safety. Paul has vehemently denied allegations of child abuse.

Mortensen was subsequently granted temporary custody of Ever. Paul filed for a protective order against Mortensen, alleging that he assaulted her in his truck. A judge granted the protective order and ruled that the former couple must maintain a distance of at least 100 feet from each other.

Earlier this month, a judge modified the custody arrangement, ruling that Paul no longer requires supervised visitation with Ever. Under the current order, she may have her son on alternative weekends and one midweek day, provided the child does not spend the night. Paul also shares two children with her ex-husband, Tate Paul.

Paul and Mortensen are scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, July 8, for another custody hearing.
