Road Rage Threats Against Driver, Dog Lead to 3-Year Prison Sentence

MAYS LANDING — A Toms River man who threatened to kill another driver and his dog during an Atlantic City road rage confrontation has been sentenced to three years in state prison.

Frank Marin, 29, was sentenced Tuesday by Superior Court Judge Christine Smith after pleading guilty to third-degree terroristic threats, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

The charge stemmed from a Sept. 12, 2025, confrontation on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Atlantic City.

According to prosecutors, Atlantic City police responded after a road rage incident involving Marin and another driver.

The other driver told police he had stopped to allow an ambulance to cross an intersection when a white Nissan Altima driven by Marin went through a red light and nearly struck his vehicle.

The two drivers subsequently confronted one another on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, authorities said.

The victim told Marin that he had nearly hit his vehicle and then attempted to leave, according to prosecutors. Marin allegedly pulled alongside the passenger side of the other vehicle and blocked it.

Prosecutors said Marin then threatened to kill both the driver and his dog.

Marin retrieved a Taser from his vehicle and approached the other driver's car, according to the Prosecutor's Office.

The victim then moved his vehicle forward, striking Marin's Nissan, authorities said.

Marin returned to his vehicle and drove away.

Marin later pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree terroristic threats.

Assistant Prosecutor Frank Edward Vizzi Jr. represented the state.
